Michelle Johnson is currently in the news for the wrong reasons. He had earlier lashed out at David Warner who is set to play his last Test series for Australia in the upcoming Test series against Pakistan. Recently, he has targeted Virat Kohli with one of his comments on Twitter. Johnson and Kohli have had a great battle on the field in the past. The two have faced off in all formats for their respective countries. Kohli has had the upper hand with the bat against Johnson, with the latter dismissing him four times in international cricket, three times in Tests.
Mitchell Johnson was asked to pick the best player between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam in his recent conversation on Twitter. He initially refused to answer it saying that both are great players.
Mitchell Johnson's comments on Virat Kohli are going viral
"Does it really matter? Both are great players in their own right," Johnson said early on.
It was probably triggered by one of the comments of a random Twitter user who wrote "Bhai you are Virat's favorite bowler".
As for Virat Kohli, he scored 765 runs in the recently concluded World Cup which Australia won. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record for most runs in a single World Cup edition (673 in 2003 WC). Kohli now holds the record for most runs in a single edition of the World Cup. He was also declared Player of the Series.
India, unfortunately, lost the World Cup final to Australia with Travis Head scoring a match-winning century. Australia won their sixth World Cup title as India continued to wait to end their ICC trophy drought. Kohli is currently on a break from international cricket and will return for India's Test series against South Africa.
